Meet the Staff
Meet the staff at the East Springfield Veterinary Hospital. We have a wide range of knowledge and interests. That is what makes it so exciting to work here! Check us out.
Amy Zander, Hospital Administrator
Amy has been managing East Springfield Veterinary Hospital since 1999. Although her career did not start in the veterinary community, she grew up in this wonderful, giving environment. Her father was Dr. Richard Hersman (see reference to Hersman HEART Fund) and she was joined by her brother, Dr. Andrew Hersman, in 2005.
She graduated from Lafayette College with a BA in International Affairs, and then pursued her graduate degree at Central Connecticut State University. Here, she earned her Masters of Science in Organizational Communication.
Although she loves the animals that she meets everyday, she focuses on the people
that bring their beloved pets to ESVH!
Amanda came to ESVH from Angell Animal Medical Center- WNE. Her spunk, charisma, and charm make each day interesting. Our clients have picked up on her positive nature and leave here thinking "that was enjoyable!"
Amanda's enthusiasm for animals does not end when she leaves the hospital. She promotes animal well-being through her pet sitting, dog walking, and volunteer work. Whew! Amanda is a busy, busy person. Thankfully, she has the energy to handle it all.
Becky Beaulieu, Veterinary Technologist
Wow, are we lucky to have Becky! Becky graduated from Quinnipiac College with a B.S. in Veterinary Technology. She was also employed at Angell Animal Medical Center- WNE for 8 years. She transitioned to our team with such grace and style. Her compassion and professionalism is a great addition to our team. It is a tribute to Becky's abilities when Angell clients are seeking and following her to her new place of employment.
We are proud to have her at ESVH!
Bethany Decoteau, LVT
Bethany is a fabulous addition to our team! She comes to us from a Connecticut veterinary hospital with a multitude of talent. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and an expert in client education. We don't know how we got so lucky. But, we are not going to question it either.
Come in and meet Bethany. You'll be glad you did!!!
Wow! Has it been almost 20 years already? Cora started at ESVH in 1997 as just a young pup herself. She has received her undergraduate and her Master's degree in Special Education.
Since Cora has a full-time job as a special education teacher, we don't get the opportunity to see her often. But, when she is here, her heart is 100% with the animals.
She began working at East Springfield Veterinary Hospital in December 2011, and we’ve loved her ever since. Diana’s favorite part about working at ESVH is feeling like she has a huge extended family, which includes the staff and some of our best clients. In her free time, she enjoys running, kayaking, camping, and visiting nursing homes with her therapy dog, Rue. Rue is so special that she has even been featured on Channel 40! One of Diana’s best features is her ability to stay calm, cool, and collected, no matter the situation. Instead of getting stressed when too many things are going on at once, she always handles the situation pleasantly and professionally. Diana says, “I’ve worked in customer service for the last 15 years, so it’s nice to be able to bring my experience to ESVH. We have always taken great care of the animals, but I like being the one to take care of the people.” We think Diana is great, and we’re so glad she’s here to stay!
ESVH is very excited to have Johannah McCarthy back working with us again. She returned to us after spending time working at a large 24-hour veterinary hospital in Washington, DC. Johannah brought all of her knowledge and experience working with specialty doctors and is now able to share that knowledge with all of our patients. What we love most about Johannah is her uncanny sense of humor and her amazing ability to connect and build personal relationships with all of our clients. In her free time Johannah enjoys knitting and crocheting and is a movie/television fanatic. Her favorite part about working at ESVH is seeing how appreciative and happy clients are when they leave the hospital.
Wow! I couldn't believe it when I met Kara. Someone with our ideals-- fun loving and determined to protect the well-being of ALL animals.
Kara joins us after spending 8 1/2 years rescuing and treating animals at the M.S.P.C.A. She still spends her time volunteering at T.J. O'Connor.
We simply adore her, and so will you!!!
Can there really be that much energy and charisma packed into such a tiny individual? Kate is full of spunk and vigor! We are very lucky that Kate joined our team in 2014. She came to us with a willingness to help our patients and clients through education and communication (English or Polish!). Something that fits our mission to a tee! We look forward to growing with her in her career and life endeavors.
Kerri loved her dog Roxie! So much, that she decided she wanted to expand her horizons and enter the field of animal wellness. Kerri is one of our weekend warriors. You will see her helping our clients at the front desk. Thank you, Kerri!
Kim is our front office guru. She has been with ESVH since 2001. She is very involved with animals on many different levels. You may have seen her at the dog shows at the Eastern States Exposition, or you may have her groom your pretty pooch. She is a wealth of knowledge, just call us and find out! She would love to hear from you and help you if she can.
There isn't a person in this world who adores animals more than Marilynn. Marilynn has been our best client for many, many years. She may have been one of our first clients!
She wanted to be near animals so much that we asked her to join our team. Marilynn is one of our evening receptionists. She is a genuine animal lover!
Nami Forest, CVT
Nami, Certified Veterinary Technician. Certifiably Fantastic! Smart, kind, sweet, sensitive are just a few of the words that come to mind when you meet her. Just like her colleagues, Nami truly loves her chosen profession. We all have a passion for animals- that's why we are here. Nami, ALSO, has a passion for knowledge and science. Put those two together and you have a winning combination. She is an important team player in your pet's health and well-being!
Navy completed the Veterinary Technician program at Holyoke Community College in 2013 and is wonderfully compassionate and caring. It’s evident she has chosen the right career path. You can feel confident that your four-legged family member is in good hands with Navy. She is conscientious and strives only for the best. We are so lucky she joined our team in 2014!
